TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR PUBLISHING DECATHLON REVIEWS
Users agree to comply with these terms and conditions and declare that they accept these conditions in full.
What is the purpose of the reviews?
Submitting an opinion is reserved to users (hereafter the "Visitor" or "User") of services or products (hereafter the "Product") presented on the websites/Digital Channels of Decathlon Hong Kong Co., Ltd (hereafter the "Decathlon") or on its partner website. These opinions are to assist Users in making their choices.
Decathlon let Users share their feedback on the offers may present on the partner websites/Digital Channels of Decathlon. These comments are made available to Visitors on the aforementioned sites/channels when they view a web page featuring the offer which has been commented on.
How can I submit a review?
To submit a comment, a Visitor must fill in certain mandatory fields, including contact information that is not visible or accessible to other websites’ Visitors. User hereby recognizes that aforementioned information will be accessible to the third-party company that is authorized by Decathlon for data analysis.
Decathlon has a legal obligation to collect and keep identification data pertaining to Visitors who have entered data on the website. Visitors must provide Decathlon with exact data on their identity and refrain from an unlawful appropriation of the identity of any third party or entity.
The email address used to submit a review may be linked to a Decathlon customer account if the author has one.
What are the conditions for publishing a review?
You may include only text in your comments. Your comments must contain your personal opinion; you may not copy or reuse what someone else has written. Once you have sent in your comments, your opinion will be published within three worked days on all partner websites of Decathlon proposing the Product you commented on. Visitors recognize that, for technical reasons, it may take more than three worked days to publish their opinion on the aforementioned websites. When posting your opinions and comments on the websites, you hereby recognize that they will be made public and you grant Decathlon and its duly authorized partners the right to use, store, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and display the contents of the opinion, in full or in part, and/or comment within the context of possible protection under intellectual property ordinance/law which may apply to them, and to use the content that you supply with the opinion or the comment for all purposes, in particular for commercial and advertising purposes, on all supports, especially Internet, emailing (hardcopy and/or online), displays, signage, point-of-sale advertising, leaflets, advertising, magazines, television and radio broadcasts and similar supports, throughout the world.
How to write a pertinent and useful review?
Certain rules should be followed: Your comments must be relevant and sincere; consider the utility of your opinion for Visitors who are considering buying the relevant Product. You must not merely state whether or not you liked a Product; you should explain the pros and cons of the offer in question (technical and ergonomic appeal, appearance, etc.). You may also relate your personal experience with the Product, as well as provide ideas on how to improve it.
In order to guarantee the quality of reviews, the User agrees to write comments on a Product that the User has effectively tested or used.
Refrain from the following in your comments (non-exhaustive list):
Illegal content:
• Those that endanger national security, disclose national secrets, damage national unity, harm national honor, and interests;
• Those that damage ethnic unity and national religious policy, violate certain religion, disturb social order and damage social stability;
• Those that advocate ethnic discrimination and involve obscenity, impureness, violence, homicide, terror, gambling and subornation;
• Information that violates others’ privacy, including disclosure of others’ name, address, and some other individual information;
• Individual information of any juveniles;
• Information or links that violate or arouse to violate related laws, regulations or morality; or violate the use conditions of Decathlon website.
Promotional content:
• Advertisements, promotional material or repeated posts that make the same point excessively
• Sentiments by or on behalf of a person or company with a financial interest in the product or a directly competing product (including reviews by publishers, manufacturers, or third-party merchants selling the product)
• Reviews are written for any form of compensation other than a free copy of the product. This includes reviews that are a part of a paid publicity package
Inappropriate content:
• If you give an opinion on a Product, it must only involve the actual Product, not the services related to the Product (delivery, price, availability etc.)
• Other people's material (this includes excessive quoting)
• Email addresses, telephone numbers, post addresses or any other data identifying an individual or corporate body, either directly or indirectly.
• Comments that inflict damage on the intellectual property rights of a third party (such as mentioning a brand name).
• Comments referring to other people, including well-known individuals.
• Comments which do not guarantee User anonymity (eg: mentioning names).
Finally, you may post only one comment per product.
Legal information
Users agree to follow current regulations, as well as these conditions. Decathlon reserves the right to withhold publication of an opinion that is contrary to these conditions without informing the User. Similarly, Decathlon reserves the right to remove an opinion that Decathlon considers to be in conflict with these conditions and current regulations, at all times and without previous notice.
Decathlon shall not be held responsible for the contents written by, nor for any request from third parties related to the content of published comments.
In case of any dispute, the decision of Decathlon shall be final.
